Music has been the literal heartbeat of our collective struggles to reclaim our freedom, culture and history. From our initial separation from the Motherland, to the periods of enslavement, colonization, revolution and reinvention, down to the present day, we have always been a musical people. In this section we will explore the artists, icons and memory makers who helped to sustain and inspire us.
